Threats to public education, lack of access to healthcare for Alabamians and protecting voter access are the issues catapulting Michelle French into running for office to run for the Alabama State House of Representatives, District 37.

Threats to public education, lack of access to healthcare for Alabamians and protecting voter access are the issues catapulting Michelle French into running for office to run for the Alabama State House of Representatives, District 37. 

“I am dedicated to ALL of my constituents and want to combine the ‘red’ and ‘blue’ on the issues that affect everyone,” she said. “I hope to turn this district a strong and friendly purple.”

In addition to representing District 37 on the State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC), French is co-chair of the Randolph County Blues—the Democratic Party of Randolph County, Chair of the Congressional District 3 County Chairs group, and has been an active volunteer for Democratic candidates. French welcomes conversations with her neighbors in Randolph, Chambers and Lee counties. 

THE ISSUES

Education

Public education is under attack in Alabama. Quality education from Pre-K through high school is necessary for a healthy productive life. Today, another two years at a technical school or community college is necessary for people who wanted to enter trades.

Healthcare Access Crisis

Many residents face limited access to emergency and medical services. Expanding local healthcare options – especially emergency care- is seen as critical to protecting lives and supporting long-term community health.

Public Safety First

Families are concerned about crime, drug abuse, and the impact of substance addiction on the community. Strong, ethical law enforcement and prevention efforts remain a top priority.

Volunteering is a great way to get involved. Whether it is doing text outreach while on the couch at home or canvassing, we have a way to get you involved in a way that works with your life.
